Functional advantages:
Manufactured 82% with plastic materials and 17% with metallic components, all of them 100% recyclable.
Modern and accessible aesthetics, designed for everyone:
With its exclusive and innovative design, designed for people, attractive and functional, the plastic side-loading container integrates into the urban landscape as just another element of its furnishings. A centering/alignment system located under the containers on their central axis allows all containers placed in a battery to maintain their alignment and position over time.
It is also worth mentioning their dimensional characteristics, with a lower loading edge that improves the accessibility of these containers for people with disabilities or physical limitations.
The main characteristic of these containers is the absence of the articulated gantry mechanism for the lids. These are articulated asymmetrically at fixed points and displaced towards the user’s side, allowing a larger lid for unloading the container into the collector and a smaller lid for the user to deposit the waste.
The side-loading container is characterized by a lid on the user’s side with fixed sides, where only the central area of the lid is hinged. This hinged lid has a gas cushioning cylinder that allows, once the lid is open, its closing speed to be slow.
In this way, the loading mouth of the container remains open for a few seconds, making it easier for the user to deposit the waste, especially in the case of users with physical limitations. The lid on the user’s side has a locking system during the unloading of the container that prevents the lid from opening more than 10º during this maneuver on the collector or the container washer.
The opening of the lid of the containers is carried out easily, comfortably and with low effort by means of a pedal (optional) located in the central front area of the container which is mechanically connected to the lid shaft. It can also be optionally equipped with a handle to facilitate opening for people with reduced mobility.
The design of the spill containment bin offers smooth, non-ribbed surfaces on the inside, with a polished finish that allows the waste to slide easily down the walls during unloading. It also facilitates cleaning of the interior when washing with garbage can washers.
All hinge mechanisms of the unloading lid are completely outside the trash area. This protects all components of the mechanisms from the corrosive action of the garbage and its leachates.
In addition, the mechanisms are easily accessible from the outside of the container even when the container is full of garbage, which allows and facilitates maintenance work. With regard to the unloading lid (street side), a gas cylinder has been installed which, during the tipping maneuver, helps the lid to open between 10º and 15º more than it would open by the action of gravity alone. In this way it is achieved to favor the unloading of the container into the collector.
Regulations and guarantees:
The containers have a capacity of 2,200 liters and comply with UNE – EN 12574 – 1/2/3. They also have the sound level marking according to the European directive 2000/14/CE.
Alternative opening mechanisms:
The front position of the pedal with central drive protects it against possible lateral blows and the damage they cause on the mechanism. This pedal has the characteristic of being able to be placed in two height positions, allowing the container to be placed in the same plane as the user or to be placed in a lower plane, being able to overcome a difference in height of up to 150 mm.
As an alternative to the pedal for opening the lid, these containers have a handle located on the right side of the container that can be operated from the front. This handle is designed for accessibility to the container for disabled people in wheelchairs, but can be used by other users with physical limitations or those who find it easier to operate than using the pedal. The operation of this handle requires a maximum effort of less than 50N.
Electronic lock:
The container may have a card-opening electronic lock located on the container overcap.
Manufacturing materials:
Manufactured 82% from injection-molded plastic materials and 17% from metal components, all of which are 100% recyclable. All the plastic materials used have UV protection to protect the parts from deterioration caused by the elements.
The main parts of the container and the materials used in its manufacture are as follows:
Bucket, lids and side covers:
Both the bucket and the two lids and side covers are elements manufactured by injection process in high density polyethylene of vegetable origin. The injection process with this material allows us to obtain parts with greater dimensional stability than with other processes. The characteristics of this material provide us with a good behavior of the parts against the stresses originated by the use of the container as well as those originated by shocks, impacts and deformations of the elements produced by the use.
Lateral structural supports:
The lateral structural supports are manufactured by injection process in polyamide with a 30% fiberglass load. The injection process with this material allows us to achieve a high dimensional stability of the part.
In addition, the mechanical characteristics of the polyamide with fiberglass load, allow us to obtain a very good behavior of the parts, with respect to the high stresses that occur during the lifting of the container, at full load, by the picker.
Feet:
The feet on which the container rests on the ground are manufactured by injection process in polypropylene with a load of EPDM. The load of this elastomer allows us to provide this piece with greater flexibility. The mechanical characteristics of this material allow us to convert the feet into noise dampening elements in the maneuver of support on the floor of the container. These elements are susceptible to wear and tear and are easy to replace.
Wheels and tilting rollers:
These elements are manufactured by injection process in polyamide Nylon.
These elements are susceptible to wear and tear and are easy to replace.
Pedal, side closing plates, cover shafts and other components:
These metallic elements are manufactured in carbon steel with grades ranging from S235 to S355. All parts and subassemblies are protected against corrosion by electrozinc coating with a minimum thickness of 6 microns. Parts that are also exposed on the outside of the container, such as the pedal or side closure plates, have a Top Coat finish.
Connector attachment system:
The container hooking system by the elevators is male pin type for double swivel bracket type elevators and has an interchangeable Nylon swivel roller.
Signage and customization:
The design of the container allows for free surfaces for the application of container signage stickers or to incorporate customized printing for the customer. All containers are equipped, as standard or as an option depending on the case, with the following stickers or markings:
Two reflective bands on the street side corners located at a height of approximately 1,030 mm from the ground to the top of the sticker. As an option, 2 additional reflective strips can be mounted on the user’s side corners at a height of approximately 950 mm from the ground to the top of the sticker.
No parking sticker, located on the street side of the container on the right.
Fraction identification relief for the visually impaired, located on the user’s side on the right, next to the manual lid operating lever when the container is equipped with this option.
