Description
Three types of countertop drums:
Countertop drums with safety spouts have all the advantages of Justrite’s Type I drums, plus other features that make them the preferred choice of laboratory professionals for work with hazardous liquids in test tubes, small flasks and beakers.
The filling spouts feature self-closing lids, pressure relief mechanism and double-mesh flame arresters. Thanks to the self-closing stopcocks, the contents can be filled without difficulty.
Drums with the 08540 tap offer the most controlled dispensing, while the 08902 tap provides greater flow.
The polyethylene shelf-ready dispensing canister features superior corrosion protection and a unique, current-carrying carbon part embedded in the canister to provide proper grounding. All styles are FM approved. Steel and polyethylene shelf drums feature a key located 51 mm above the bottom, eliminating the need to lift the drum to dispense contents.
The steel countertop tip-up drums have a key at the top and the drum rests on a sturdy metal frame. The base of the frame measures 351 mm x 356 mm.
Drums with bottom outlet have a self-closing brass tap located 51 mm from the bottom. The drums
with tap 08540 are ideal for laboratory use and those with tap 08902 are suitable for heavy industrial use. The filling ports are fitted with self-closing caps and pressure relief mechanism with vacuum regulating valve and flame arrester.
Polyethylene drum:
The chemical resistant polyethylene drum is suitable for flammable corrosive materials.
Type I non-metallic safety drums constructed of high-density polyethylene resist strong acids and corrosive materials, as well as heat. Polyethylene drums with a patented carbon insert are resistant to dents, punctures and chips. The self-closing, pressure-relieving lid mechanism and dual-density flame arrester work together to prevent ignition sources from entering without restricting liquid flow into or out of the drum. All drums feature stainless steel fittings and a flame arrester to provide superior chemical resistance. FM approved.
With carbon insert for added safety:
A patented, current-conducting carbon piece embedded in the flange of the polyethylene canisters completes a ground circuit between the cover assembly and the flame arrester. When used with a grounding strip, this feature provides proper grounding and prevents static arcing during filling or emptying.
